The Arts & Cookery Bank honours the community’s past, celebrates the community’s present and envisions the community’s future legacy by expressing local heritage and culture through photographs and cuisine to promote, encourage and sustain a rural lifestyle.

Mission

By advancing awareness through education, The Bank inspires visitors to expand their thinking and develop insights about the significance and impact that local heritage has on their day-to-day lives. The Bank will expand the community’s access to the photography and culinary arts through cultural, educational and recreational programming.

The Bank will establish and operate a unique community heritage facility to be used for workshops, programs, seminars and recreation for the benefit of the general public.

Goals

Promote the value of a rural lifestyle by providing a photographic gallery that makes a pictorial statement of the community’s past, captures and showcases the community’s present and visually imagines the community’s future.

Inspire interest in the local food economy by offering hands-on cooking experiences that concentrate on traditional local culture and cuisine.

Build community capacity to support our unique heritage by building collaborative relationships among individuals, groups, institutions and organizations that are involved in the cultural, heritage and tourism sectors.
